(Photo Mike Hensdill/The Gaston Gazette) Firefighter Clayton Thornburg was severely injuried in an auto accident while responding to a call for the Hugh's Pond Fire Department in December. Wednesday he finally was discharged from the Levine Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and was escoted by fire and rescue units back to the Hugh's Pond Fire Department on Tot Dellinger Road to complete the orginal call.
